One year ago, we got married! How about that. I love husband. The year went by so fast.
We are in Chicago, and as ever, adore it. Last night we went out with the lads (Dave, Mark), went to a couple of bars in Wrigleyville, where I drank Cape Cods and we shouted at each other over the very bad DJ (first bar), and then at the second bar, found a much quieter place to sit. Eventually we ended up at a 24-hr hot dog restaurant near the ball park at one in the morning, by then I was fairly half-drunk, and did not get a dog of my own, instead sampling everyone else’s. People should always put tomatoes on hot dogs.
Today: breakfast with Claire followed by White Sox followed by romantic dinner.
It’s nice to be back in a real city. It’s sickening to see how much the rents are here (half what we pay), and things like 2-bedroom condos near the lake for $400k (it would be double that in SF).
Our hotel bathroom is nicer than the one in our apartment, but then, we find that to be the case almost everywhere we go.
I suppose it’s merely a coincidence that as I was walking on 18th St yesterday I saw the ownder of certain red kitchenbaid walking towards me. I kind of bounced towards her and said “Hello! I have your kitchenaid! Please come and get it!” She looked mildly terrifed until she realized who I was.

Happi Yanniversary.

Glad you’re enjoying yourself in Chicago. It’s such a great city. It was 75 and cloudless up here today, so I imagine it was even warmer there.
