Last night I did housework for a couple of hours. It felt good — the apartment needed it after having been neglected since we went on vacation. I also learned that you can’t put a heavy braided floor mat by itself in the washer because the high-speed spin cycle will cause the washing machine to walk as far out of place as it can go while still remaining tethered to its hoses and cords. Nice.
Brian pushed the washer back into place when he got home at two in the morning from the late shift.
Speaking of washer, I wish there was a way to educate every dumb “emo” kid who buys Dashboard Confessional t-shirts at Hot Topic about a little band called Slint, whose Spiderland album encapsulated six songs of ahem “emo” perfection, never to be repeated, never to be eclipsed.
Speaking of eclipse, it’s Derby day! I am a horse girl!
Yesss! Slint! That awesome band that seems to have stayed frozen in the ninetys. It’s a shame!
