I just spent a couple hours reading and loitering in this cafe I walked to in Cole Valley. I am reading “Prep” and so far it’s as good as I had heard, though the Holden Caulfield comparisons in the critics’ blurbs at the front seem extremely lazy and off-base. Anyway.
This guy was sitting at the next table talking and talking and talking forever to his friend about his recent experiences auditioning for the CBS reality series “Rock Star.” (Last year it featured the band INXS, whom I loved about eighteen years ago.) I guess he made it into the top 50 or something? I am not sure, I didn’t eavesdrop the whole time. But BOY did he know how to drop them names!
I looked at him a few times and he had very high cheekbones and pretty eyes. In a cheesy way. He had those TV good looks, where you could tell he had made it that far based on his appearance alone.
Seriously he was talking about it for like an hour. I thought maybe he was being interviewed, but he wasn’t. The best part was some story about how this one guy “shredded” on guitar. Oh and then he described this hot girl who looked “Arabic.” Do you mean Arabian, genius?
The fog hasn’t lifted all day. I had bad cramps this morning, but I think the exercise helped.
I really wish we could hang out today.
ME TOO. Brian is training in Marin all day long so I am just sitting inside writing. Feel like reading anything? I think I am going to watch a DVD later and then if I feel up to it, walk all the way to the Castro.
Sure, send it over.
I just made Jesse & me a big breakfast (tofu scamble, potatoes, carrot-raisin-spice muffins, and fruit). He’s watching world cup games. I have to do some gardening, and I wanna run to the thrift store by my house. I have to volunteer at 5 for the food co-op table at a street festival here, but that’s it.
Can I email you at your uwm address right now or do you only use that at work?
Yup, that is my only email address…
No, she looked Arabic. More specifically, she looked like the number 3.
