While cleaning the office, I dug up this little wood box among my old things in the closet. It contains:
+ a small pair of silver hoop earrings. This may have been the pair I wore constantly for like six years sometime in my twenties.
+ a silver pinkie ring engraved with my initials. Too small.
+ a single diamond stud earring. I found this on the steps in front of the Berkeley Post Office in the mid-nineties. I have no idea whether it is a real diamond or not. I should go ahead and find out somehow.
+ a two-inch long fork.
+ a 1976 silver dollar, large. Heads: Eisenhower. Tails: Liberty bell and full moon.
+ a 1976 half dollar. Heads: JFK. Tails: Independence Hall.
+ a 1972 half dollar. Heads: JFK. Tails: Eagle.
+ a 1979 silver dollar, small. Heads: Susan B. Anthony. Tails: An eagle landing on the moon!
+ a 1907 penny. Heads: Indian chief. Tails: Laurel wreath, “One Cent.”
Anyone know a safe way to clean coins? This hundred-year-old penny is filthy.
+ a silver pinkie ring engraved with my initials. Too small.
That was your 16th birthday present, white gold. You might be able to size it to fit your pinkie again (try the left hand) Love, Mom
cola is meant to be great for cleaning coins but have never tried it myself
I love little keepsake boxes like that. What a wonderful treasure box 🙂
I use toothpaste, beleive it or not. Works pretty good. For polishing more than teeth, that is.
