My friend Randy is in town for the Oracle conference. He and I went shopping this afternoon at the new mall downtown. My goal was to check out some shoes that I have been coveting online, and also try on some jeans. It was successful, and I got the shoes. I did not have any comfortable black leather non-heeled shoes for winter. And now I do.
They have a zipper.
Oh and can I get opinions on these shoes? The calf hair is not real, btw. I just think they look kind of fun.
Randy and I walked around in Bloomingdale’s, mostly looking at menswear. He is a very well-dressed gay man, and knew about almost every one of the small designers featured around the store. There are some really awesome men’s clothes out there. I would love to get Brian into that, but he’s such a dude, I doubt it will happen. There’s always Christmas presents, I spose. I think Brian would look great in some nice ankle-high boots. Heheh.
I also got a new pair of jeans, which I won’t pick up until they have been hemmed and taken in. Trying on jeans always inspires me to get back to a regular gym habit goddammit. I’m feeling a bit soft in the middle. It’s not good.
Speaking of that, we avoided the very long line for cream puffs in the food court, opting instead for bags of hot roasted almonds. Mmmm. By then, we were both shopped out.
The fog was starting to roll in at about 3:00. It signaled the close of our latest heatwave, and when we stepped out on to the sidewalk, we were met by a cold, cold breeze even as we stood in full sunlight. My friend drove me home in the rental car, and since then I have been listening to the ball game. I’m about to make myself a big salad for dinner. Might even turn on the furnace.
shopping with Randy is awesome!
Totally! I just wish he had bought something too!
I say no on the shoes
I like the calf hair part but combined with the floral band thing? no.
I don’t like the hiking-boot-ish sole.
They kind of remind me of Docs. I don’t think anyone really likes these shoes so far! The ribbon of flowers thing is what annoys me.
floral thingiez
I can almost see the delightful quirkiness of combining floral with cow but the totally bonkers element is that I had a pair of boots about 20 years ago the exact same decor…fashion does really repeat itself! eeek!
