I have nothing against the Detroit Tigers. They aren’t the Yankees or the Twins or the Angels, three teams in the AL that I enjoy watching lose. But it would have been nice for Oakland to get at least ONE win in the series, so as not to be completely humiliated. Oh well. Our players are still cuter, so there.
I think today is going to be IKEA day. Hopefully this means Brian will get out of bed soon. The oatmeal is cooking slowly on the stove, filled with chopped apples, cinnamon, and raisins.
When Apple came out with iPod nanos last month in new colors, I was tempted to upgrade. My iPod is over two years old, which in tech device terms, makes it almost obsolete. I went to check out the nanos and ended up not liking any of the colors (I am a girl). Knowing Apple would come out with something else sooner or later, I decided to wait. Sure enough, on Friday they released a red version of the nano, and I done got me one. It sure is pretty.
Last night we watched “Singles” on HBO. It looked so very dated. No cellphones? No email? What? I especially liked all the scenes at the OK Hotel, a now-closed Seattle club where I saw quite a few awesome shows back in the day. What I remembered most about this movie was the fact that I owned the soundtrack, which was very good. The best song on it was by Chris Cornell. I can’t find it online anywhere. The other thing I remembered was all the Seattle music scene cameos, like Tad, and the co-founder of Sub Pop, and of course Pearl Jam as Matt Dillon’s backing musicians. Campbell Scott is a good actor, and gave a good performance in the movie, but I didn’t buy him going to hang out at an Alice in Chains show for a second.
I gotta agree on ‘dated’.. I was watching episodes from the first season of ‘X-Files’ and they didn’t even have cell phones! So many times I was like… “Mulder! Call up Scully on your cell! NOW!”. Then they got issued big-bricka-phones later on. Meanwhile, I still think my razr is too big.
by waiting to buy a prettier iPod you were really waiting to help fight AIDS. Way to go!
my current iPod is so old that it means that I’m totally a big slacker who loves AIDS and makes instant oatmeal for rainy morning breakfasts and then falls asleep during Meet the Press.
See, I could say the same for myself since I don’t plan to buy the red razr phone. Instead I am stuck with my old-timey LG flip phone. SHAME ON ME!
yeah, but the next iPod I’ll buy will be white. Because I’m an iPod
puristracist.I was at the game last night, it was amazing. Haren pitched really well. I can’t remember seeing so many first pitch strikes. But when we saw Street come in during the 7th, everyone seemed more confident. Sure he’s great but three innings is asking a lot.
Now come on! The A’s are cuter? Are you not a fan of Magglio and his long Jeri curled locks!? 😉
