My group at work moved to a new floor over the weekend. So here I sit in my new cube. I am much happier here, and the reasons why are as follows:
+ it’s quiet, very quiet.
+ the window right behind me faces the large central atrium, and beyond that, we have a glorious view of the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, and the arrow.
+ I am at the end of a dead-end aisle, so no passers by walking behind me constantly. Lots more privacy.
And now I must go to a meeting, joy.
how weird is that? my group moved on Thursday.
That icon makes me want to take a nap.
I will take that as a compliment. Your icon makes me want gold knee-high boots.
also, hooray for privacy and a view.
It was meant as a compliment! You look lovely in that photo, so dreamy and heavy-lidded…but it makes me sleepy. Or maybe that’s just because I only got about six hours of sleep in the last four days.
Did you know that Flash’s costume compresses into a tiny little wad he wears inside his ring? I wish my clothes did that.
Re: also, hooray for privacy and a view.
Wow, it must be made of some kind of space-age polymer!
And thank you. 🙂 I was probably sleepy since I am drinking some coffee in the pic.
Did you stay at a hotel in Austin or with friends?
Both, sort of. I stayed with friends the first night, and then in a friend’s hotel room the second night. Both times, it’s just where I ended up, though, trying to salvage a tiny amount of sleep before it was time to get rolling again. You know how it goes.
I can’t believe they have rock shows at ten in the morning. That is nuts. The closest I can compare it to was when I was in high school and our jazz choir would go compete in festivals and have to sing first thing in the morning. We kicked ass though.
We now sit in very similar spots, in our cubes, in our respective offices – what you described, save for your view, well it describes where I sit too. And good day to you, ma’am… (Still, catching up after returning from Portland)
Ah, Portland! Hope it was fun.
