I just tasted my coleslaw and it is YUMMY. I am proud of meself.
Brian and I are both back from our runs. He did 4.25 miles in 48 minutes, I did I don’t know in 35 minutes. We took separate routes because he actually runs while I run for a block then walk for like 3 blocks etc.
It was nice though, I walked around the softball fields and stopped for five minutes to watch a few batters in some single-A game being played. Actually I don’t know what league it was but everyone had real uniforms and equipment and there were two umpires in uniforms so who knows. Semi-pro? I dunno. Anyway the team that was pitching at the time was giving up runs and making errors left and right. Sad.
So I headed home after that. A half block from my house, some bitch driving a mammoth SUV almost hit me. She decided to back out of her driveway without looking to see if anyone was on the sidewalk first. This type of shit happens a lot in San Francisco. Some of the most careless and inconsiderate drivers in America live here. And that is not hyperbole.
I was pretty shaken up and pissed after that. I mean I literally had to run out of the way to avoid being hit by a car. She FINALLY hit the brakes and gave me this stunned look while I shot her the Evil Eye.
ANYWAY, I survived and promised to be even more extra alert than usual when passing this particular daycare center. YEP.
hit and run
If that is a common problem, perhaps carrying an air horn is advisable. Glad you have good reflexes. Love, Mom
Once, as a disgruntled teen, I got hit lightly whilst in a crosswalk (without lights, all stop signs) by a vehicle, and, without any sort of impetus other than sheer pain and rage, punched a dent in that car’s hood. Not because I was mad at the driver but because I was mad at the car. The driver was, as he should be, ashamed of himself and apologized profusely. Unfortunately nowadays cars are not as punchable while we remain as fragile in our flesh. Anyways, glad you are okay.
Also, great aside re it being at a daycare center. That wasn’t a speedbump, entitled SUV driver.
thanks 🙂 After living her so long I’ve learned that as a pedestrian to assume that all drivers are drunk, legally blind, and on their cellphones.
