Brian linked me to this podcast series for people who are just starting out a running program. You can go to the link or search for it on iTunes under “Couch to 5k”. Each podcast is 30 minutes long and while the music is not my taste at all (techno house oontz-oontz), the steady beat is encouraging. The first one (of nine, you are supposed to move to the next level each week until you eventually can run a 5k) is an interval workout of short runs and longer walks. A voice interrupts from time to time to tell you to do your sixty-second interval of jogging, then to go back to your brisk walking pace.
Anyway I did that this morning and it went well. I have never been good at running. Not in eighth grade PE class, and not now. But I think if I slowly work up to it, I could possibly run for a full 20 or even 30 minutes. We’ll see. The sixty-second bursts kind of made my shins hurt. But I’m fine now.
Hey! Giants win! Giants win!
Other weekend news: I have been doing a ton of writing.
I could use that podcast, I’ve been out of running forever. Could you tell me what its called? Please?
Sure! I edited my post to add the link.
Thank you so much!
I got kittens today, and I thought of Simon 🙂

orange cats are the best!
I love the name domino for your spotted cat!
Thank you so much! 😀 She looks just like one, hehe. Orange kittens, I’m finding, are truly special. He’s so beautiful and adorable and I want to eat him for dinner!
Writing, Gooooood…
Back online on a regular basis from home, thankfully… Well, we were online, but the itty-bitty iBook killed my eyeballs.
Hope the running turns out to be what you want of it… You are stronger than I, to even try.
Go Giants!
yay!! I hope to read some new posts from you soon!
Oh, Jane, you can definitely build up to running 20 minutes or more. I have never been a runner either but with coaching, I’ve been able to run 6 miles. No more, though. My feet are too fucked up to go beyond that distance and I listen to my body. Running can be fun!
