There are certain things that, really, you only “need” one of. And yet, a lot of people have more than one. I was thinking about this the other day when I bought a second pair of sunglasses for the first time ever. It seemed weird to me to own two pairs. I dunno. Anyway I thought it would be a fun Friday poll. Whee!!!
Edited to add: If one of the extra things was a gift, it still counts. That explains my two digital cameras, by the way. Brian and I share the one we received for christmas a couple years ago, and I have a small cheapie one.
Re: notes and clarifications
hmmm. now my poll is all confusing!
I own two iPods but I only use one since I just love my new one more and haven’t figured out what to do with the old one yet.
feel very much the consumer with my answers but some explanations:
2 digital cameras – one dslr and one that I dont mind bringing everywhere (and wee camera on phone)
ipod shuffle for running and big ipod for everything/where else
I have about 3 pairs of sunglasses because I always lose them and good to have spares in car
Quite a few little purses for foreign currency
3 mobile phones – personal, work phone and blackberry (2 of these are off quite a bit of the time)
I have 2 pairs of sunglasses bc one is for sports and would look dorky in every day life and the every day life ones aren’t strong enough and are too bulky when I wear a helmet.
I own two cellphones but only one is connected to my service. I keep meaning to donate the old one but I’ve been too lazy so far.
I didn’t include my cell phone as ‘a camera.’ Neither the broken watch I *think* I still have “in case of emergency.” But I wanted to give full disclosure.
I said “no” to all of them (except iPod which I do not own, and wristwatch which I have more than one).
… Then I wondered, did you mean as an individual? Or as a household? Because you mention sharing the cameras, so couldn’t it be considered 1 camera as yours and 1 is Brian’s?
We definitely share the better camera between us, so it’s as much mine as it is his. I use it all the time, and we both use it when we take trips. But it was also a gift to the both of us.
My briphone might count as an mp3 player, a computer, digital camera or sunglasses … not to mention a treadmill and a helium tank for used mostly for filling balloons.
My wallet is really only half of my wallet, just the insert part that most people use for their drivers license. I cram some cards, a fast pass and my ID in there.
Also, I have two ipods but use one for file storage, not mp3s…
