I got rid of a bag of books at Green Apple. Saved a bag they didn’t want to sell on my own, here or at our garage sale Saturday. I am going to list them here a bit later, hopefully someone will be interested…
I skipped yoga, too much to do. Listed other items on craigslist and I think I will have three of them sold by tomorrow. Hired a painter to paint the dining room. Hired moving company. Shipped some other stuff I sold on ebay.
What’s left today is to finish packing up the things in my desk, in the buffet cabinet, and on the kitchen cart. Should I keep ten pounds of unread “New Yorker”s (better than fifty)? They may come in handy on dark and rainy nights in rural WA, or even crossing the Sound on the ferry. Hmm.
I am completely convinced that they have the New Yorker in Washington
Just out of curiosity, how much scrilla was it to get a painter to paint a room? The kitchen here is purple and it’s foul, but I am too lazy to do it myself.
Good times.
Re: I am completely convinced that they have the New Yorker in Washington
The deal with the magazines is I didn’t read them and I feel like I ought to. I unsubbed a while ago for that reason, the piling up. So I feel this insane obligation to get through them even if they are six months old.
As for the painter, the room in question is dark terracotta red, and requires 2 coats primer and 2 coats white. So it’s more of an extraordinary situation. I was quoted $280 and Brian said fuckit, let’s do that, four coats of paint is a pain in the ass.
I have several years worth of half-read New Yorkers stacked up on my bookshelves that I can’t bring myself to part with. If you ever need to borrow a pile of them, you know whom to call.
excellent. I am such a dork I actually saved my favorite covers before recycling a bunch last year. I had this mad idea I would wheatpaste a wall in our house with them, I don’t know, perhaps if we end up with a roomy walk-in closet or something.
