In January of 1994, Robyn Ert and I, who were roommates in Olympia, set off together in my car. We were headed to the SF Bay Area to start our new lives. She is from Portland, I am from Seattle. I am returning to the Northwest in a few days, and hopefully, she will return as well by next summer. It won’t be the same without her in my general proximity!

We don’t see each other as much as we used to, but since we’ve been friends for 15 years now, we don’t really have to. This morning we had brunch at Zazie and it was great, as always.

We are both over living in California, she’ll just need a bit more time before she can leave. She works for an art magazine and is heavily involved in the art world now, so I hope that can take her wherever she wants to go.

Okay, time to get back to work…
