I’m making these this weekend.
Did you know you can get dark chocolate hershey kisses now? I bought a bag today for this purpose.
Edit: the recipe, as requested by Karen
Peanut Butter Kisses
1 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 stick butter, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
9-oz package chocolate kisses
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, beat peanut butter, brown sugar, and butter at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until well blended. Mix flour, baking soda and salt and beat in until dough is smooth, scraping down side of bowl. Drop by heaping teaspoons, 2 inches apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Slightly flatten. Bake about 9 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, remove foil wrappers from kisses. Remove cookies from oven; leave oven on. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Return to oven and bake 2 to 4 minutes longer. Place cookies on a wire rack to cool completely. Makes approximately 48 to 50 cookies.
