Some of the ignorant, crazy anti-union bullshit I am reading on a certain celebrity gossip blog with regard to the writer’s guild strike is giving me a stomachache.

Seriously. I think (or hope) it’s mostly undereducated teens saying things like “don’t like it? find a new job.” Or, “boo hoo, you’re a writer, you’re lucky to have that career, quit your bitching.” “Wah, I want to watch Scrubs, get back to work, goddammit!”

This, even after a detailed explanation of EXACTLY what the writers are asking for and EXACTLY how the studios are trying to fuck them over.

I think I need a break from that place. It is disgusting. There are lots of other people who agree with my POV but I still can’t stand to read the trolling.

I can’t read the stupid Britney posts either so I am really running out of reasons to read that site.

Which blog is it, Jane? I’m glad the writers struck. Maybe people will appreciate how difficult it is to craft a story or develop characters. Not likely, but one can always hope. Few people who haven’t tried to write understand how hard it is–and forget about editing. When I was an editor I would get the stupidest questions from people who were relatively smart and sophisticated. They just couldn’t grasp the concept of it, for whatever reason.

Thanks. I don’t think I will click and read. I’ve had enough tsouris with harsh internet posters already. But thanks. And, also, good morning!

I prefer Defamer; although not as voluminous, the chances of seeing an avatar that will physically revolt you or reading three posts saying solely “DIAF” followed by 50 posts saying solely “IAWTC” are drastically reduced. Sometimes direct democracy is not a good thing, and OhNoTheyDidnt is one of those times.

Also how are Brangelina supposed to simultaneously STFD and GTFO? Seriously, how would that be physically possible without a rocket chair?

You make some excellent points. ONTD skews really young, I think that is part of it. It can also be very cruel, much like Gawker.

And I always thought it was STFD and STFU? Those two can totally be achieved simultaneously!
