Quick post: I still like my job a lot. It continues to make the many years spent at my last job look like a mind-numbing waste of time. Today I was able to turn a potentially frustrating roadblock in a project into only a minor hitch; because of the detailed CSS classes I created for a page I’m rebuilding, I was able to complete a last-minute pile of top-to-bottom design changes in just a few hours. Instead of being upset about it, it was an opportunity to be flexible and cooperative. I know it sounds cheesy, but I never had chances like this at my last job, the chance to be creative and responsible for the way a section of the site looked and worked. I also like my coworkers a whole lot. That is very meaningful, too. Not to say I disliked my prior coworkers at all, but it was a *very* different corporate culture.
I am listening to a Mariners – Giants game on the TV. Mariners are winning by a lot. I am torn, sigh. I still do love the Giants. I miss their broadcasters a lot. These Mariners guys are dull as dirt by comparison. I was spoiled. But the Mariners are my home team, my first home team. So I like them to win. I am determined to visit Safeco for the first time this season.
Spring hasn’t really arrived yet. The buds are on the trees and the flowers are blooming, but it’s still bitter cold. But I just know it will break soon, and I’ll finally be able to leave my North Face jacket at home.
I’m glad you’re happy at your work. Did you not get the freaking SNOW last night? I’m in crazy bizaaro world.
There is snow sticking on the ground now in Chicago :/ Came down last night. But! I look at the ‘Chicago” sign every morning now, I transfer trains right in front of it!
