This weekend has been nice and chill, and I have actually finally done some writing. BRENNA: care to read a couple pages next week? lol 😀
Yesterday we went to Macy’s to take advantage of the mattress sale. Got a beautiful firm Serta queen for $619 — allegedly MSRP is $1800, but I never know whether to believe those things. I do know it’s a gorgeous mattress and will take the place of my old Serta, that shall take up residence in the guest room.
Whenever I feel like maybe I spend too much money on handbags, I visit Chanel or Hermes forums and read about girls who own several quilted flap bags, at $2800 a pop, or three or four Hermes bags at $6000 each. Ah, perspective.
Anyway speaking of that, my final beauty for the next twelve months is on a UPS vehicle headed my way. It’s a black tote, simple and classic and perfect for any occasion requiring a black bag that holds a lot of stuff. Then like I said, I’m done. Our house needs bookshelves and someday bamboo flooring, so no more buying prezzies for myself for a while.
Brian and I talked to a lady we met on the street today who was training her dogs in agility. She actually worked with Kona a little bit and got her to behave. As I suspected, it’s us who don’t know what we are doing. We need to show more consistency and discipline with her. And she needs a choke chain, pronto.
It would be so cool if she did agility though. She is well-suited for it.
Why do you think she needs a choke chain?
If she’s not behaving on the leash, try a head collar.
Also, see if there’s a dog class nearby. The best thing I ever did for my Bee was take him to puppy class. It’s about working with the dog, and not against the dog.

Hand Bags
Ok so i am still learning about this whole hand bag thing but i see women come into our store and get excited that it only costs $250.00 i still choke if i spend more than $20.00 but i gotta say some of those bags are nice and $250 is a lot less than the origional sugested retail of $300 or $400 TJMaxx is a cool store. i am begining to apreciate the quality of some of the high end fasion. some things tho… why spend $50 on a t-shirt when you can get one at wal mart that looks good for $5.

Well I’m sure there is a much longer answer for this but as a person who has spent $50 on a t-shirt, here are a few reasons: the $50 t-shirt was probably made in the USA (mine were) out of better materials and dyes, with a better fit and design, and will last a lot longer.
The wal-mart t-shirt was made in the third world by a non-union factory worker only making 10 cents an hour, constructed out of cheaper materials, often poorly sewn, won’t fit as well, and will fall apart and end up in a landfill far faster.
Thats my take on it anyway. Or, “you get what you pay for.”
Re: Hand Bags
I get that part and I almost didn’t use wal mart as an example but the ones I was refering to are actually pretty poor quality and I have already seen two of them start to come undone at the seems like seriously they might only last a couple of washes. I wish I could remember what brand they are. Like I said I am begining to learn the value of spending a little more for quality and without question I am becoming more consious of what I wear. I am not quite a candidate for TLC “What not to Wear” anymore but I have a ways to go. Really what I am learning is what brands are good so I can find them at good will cause let’s face it I make min. wage.
Re: Hand Bags
I’m not saying his because I used to work there but Gap and Banana Republic make pretty good t-shirts. Old Navy not as much, but still better quality than some found at wal-mart. I used to see tons of Gap tees (and clothes in general) in thrift/used clothing stores.
