On a lighter note: Our new mattress was delivered yesterday and Brian even set it up (on the old bed frame, new bed isn’t due til Tuesday), put clean sheets on it, and washed the dirty sheets! Yay husband.
Last night we slept on it — I fell asleep rapidly and slept well all night except for the usual being awakened by incredibly pushy cats. It’s an awesome mattress, I think I chose well. Serta St Charles, firm, if you must know.
The old mattress, a Sealy, was dragged to the guest room and propped against a wall, where it awaits its old frame. Today I thought about the bodies that have lain in that bed… mine of course, my evil ex, his brother, Allison and Chuck, my mom, Iain, David, Shannon, and of course Brian… oh and two cats. Did I leave anyone out? Hmmm. That’s nine years of boys, friends and family. My first new mattress, finally retired to occasional use.
your room looks very restful! i love the red wall!
I really should have clarified: that photo is very old, from around 2001, of my old bed in my old apartment. The new frame just arrived today!! I’ll post pictures of it tomorrow.
ooh! i bet you are so excited 🙂
