+ We got our new bed frame yesterday. It is beautiful. But: it’s a lot lower than our old bed. The new bed is a platform, so no box needed, but I think we may need one anyway to raise the mattress up to the level we like. And it looks awkward that low since the headboard is so tall. Bleah. So in other words when we got the mattress from Macy’s we should have included the box. Sigh. Maybe they will still sell us one for cheap? I dunno. I hate box springs. Since platform beds came along, they are pretty much pointless. Except to lift the height of a mattress.

+ Last weekend I started writing in a paper (moleskine) journal. I do not want my blog to turn into a place where I talk about serious personal stuff. That is what a diary is for. There are so many LJs out there full of TMI. Some people are comfortable with that I guess, but not I. Anyway I kept a paper journal for a long long time — I have a cardboard box full of em in my closet. It’s nice to be doing it again. I can write personal stuff, or I can write mundane boring details, and no one but me reads it, so no one to judge it, either. Also, it’s helping my lousy handwriting improve.

+ I brought my lunch to work today but now my team is going out for Cuban sandwiches for lunch. I was talked into it. Leftovers can wait, I guess. We’re also going out on Friday; it’s Jeff’s last day. But I have been spending less this week overall on food and coffee.

+ I am trying to clear up my complexion by drinking a minimum of 80 oz of water a day. Let’s see if that actually works.

+ After work I’m going to buy a new goose down duvet for the new bed. The old one, which was purchased nine years ago from Costco, shall be retired to the guest room. I’m also getting a merino wool cardigan. Fall is coming. The leaves outside my window at work have faded to a rich gold color and are falling in bunches every time there’s a strong breeze.
