The snow is swirling and looping and spinning like swarms of tiny white flies. It’s going sideways. Today is not a day to watch “The Shining”. I’m alone here, as I have been all week, hanging out with the dog and the cats.
I worked at home yesterday under the threat of snow “any minute.” Weather.com is a liar. But it started last night finally and hasn’t stopped. And tomorrow it will all freeze. I will try to walk to the bus stop in the morning. My town, this whole area, is sadly ill-equipped for snow. Those of you in the midwest who are like, “boo hoo we don’t cancel anything for any less than a foot”, I would like to see how your city would handle three inches of snow on top of ice with a handful of snow plows, many very steep hills, and few people with snow tires. Yeah, that’s what I thought.
Anyway, working at home today too. Though Kona needs a walk soon. I canceled the dog walker yesterday and today. I hope Kona doesn’t make me slip and fall. She LOVES snow, and wants to run in it.
Today was a trip… I am happy to have a break from commuting, at lest `til half past four tomorrow morning… I am sorry you’re alone! Do you need us all to jump in the car and visit?
Don’t you dare get in the car! The roads here are pretty fucked up.
I feel so dumb for not getting tire chains before Brian left for SF. doh.
The office manager at my new office lives RIGHT behind me in Brier and drives a 4 wheel drive Toyota Sequoia so we have been going to work together the last two days. The down side is getting up at 4:30AM. I’ going to have to put my chains on tomorrow I think but even if I don’t I think I’m screwed for my hair cut (boo-hoo) because I don’t think I can get to my hairdressers house.Mom
I was wondering about you today! I am glad you have a ride, carpooling is the way to go in any weather, in my opinion. Though of course it would be easier if your schedules matched. Supposedly 100 de-icing trucks will be out tonight to take care of the roads. For some reason I doubt that means my town, but surely they will cover snohomish co.
