Cool hat!! I love REI!! My last and briefly lasting job (layoffs! Nothing new for anyone.) had a REI store on the way home. So much great stuff! But, I still must stick my my beloved military surplus site- 3 pair 1950’s era wool French officers pants, for 9 bucks! And since they’re older, they’re made to be altered easily. They’re wonderful! And, I got wool long-johns with wooden buttons on the cheap, too, along with the best winter coat ever- Another 1950’s French military deal. It’s 6+ pounds of thick wool, but it’s got the best lining, and soo comfortable. And only 14 dollars! Not bad for five winters use so far, and only minor repairs should see it in my wardrobe for a while. And! The ladies seem to really like the dressy yet understated look- especially with a nice button-up and suspenders. I look like a throwback from WWII! It works well for me, though.. don’t know about others. Let me know if you want the site, you might be able to find some nice stuff for your hubby on the cheap- nice socks, etc etc! All of their stock is new, unless noted, and is a great value. Two thumbs up!
Here you go! http://www.sportsmansguide.com -> scroll down to the military surplus page. I still get compliments on the clothes I’ve bought there! Some of it’s hit and miss, but just browse around and you’ll find some great stuff. I just saw a sixer of misc. new wool socks for 24 bucks! And for those who see them, the wool long johns are liked, as well. It’s like.. old old old school 🙂
hello! It is http://www.sportsmansguide.com . Scroll near the bottom for the military surplus, I just saw an offer for six pairs of wool socks for 24 bucks. Four bucks a pair! That’s hardly beatable. No choice on pattern, but you give and you get. They also have all sorts of other winter goodies. I *fully* got equipped my first winter in Chicago for under fifty bucks, and still wear a lot of it now, five years later. It’s really well made!
