Our summer started yesterday, finally. Today I took the girls out by myself for the first time. We went to a local park for a play date with a couple of friends. We were there for over two hours. I wore Audrey some, nursed her some, let her sleep in her car seat, and let friends hold her while I followed Freya around on the playground. My oldest daughter had a blast, mostly playing with the water fountain, swinging, blowing bubbles, and riding on the merry go round with my help. We also watched a couple of people playing tennis — something she has seen me watching on TV a bit lately.
Glad we put on the sunscreen; Freya is lily white and will probably have the pale complexion of her daddy. Nothing wrong with that, she’ll just need to protect herself. She already has a few teeny freckles on her legs.
Back home and Audrey has been snoozing while Freya definitely has not, so now my job is to keep her awake so she can have a nice early bedtime. As for the baby, she’s still difficult to keep awake during the day, but she is getting her feedings in and making plenty of dirty diapers. In fact, I think her thighs are already getting chunky, which is an awesome development.
