+ after several months, our contractor finally came back and fixed our non-working garbage disposal switch. Having a disposal in the sink is quite the luxury. So now that that’s done, we can move forward with tiling our back splash and being *done* with the kitchen remodel, finally.
+ our new Samsung TV is home and installed. I can see people’s PORES! Really brings to light either how lousy the Vizio was, or how nice this new model is. Either way I am so thrilled. Our new TV budget was around $500 but I ever dreamed we’d get a $1500 flatscreen for that.
+ I went to my annual gyno exam and because I had a normal pap last year, I didn’t have to get one this year! YAY. And all is well in that dept too. So since I’ve gotten normal results on blood work and an abdominal ultrasound, my next step in the treatment of my GI issues will be a naturopath consult, a dairy-free and coffee-free diet, and starting a probiotic supplement as of today.
And trying to reduce my stress level, which seems to be fairly high at the moment. For this I am also practicing yoga early in the mornings, with the very limited time I have. But it always makes me feel a bit better.
Have you had a mammogram yet? fun, fun! On the digestive front, there may be diverticulosis in the genetic pool. Since I have now had two colonoscopies, I have had it confirmed. di..osis is the non acute problem, but flare ups cause acute pain in the lower left quadrant, with constipation and diahrea. It’s caused by pouches in the sigmoid colon, which cause irregular movement. Prevention is lots of fruits and vegetables, probiotic to encourage good bacteria, and metamucil for regularity, if necessary. Now you know everything, I was told. Sometimes in the acute phase, a round of anitbiotics is necessary to get things back to normal. After Dr. Karimi told me this, I realized I may have had an acute attack in 1972, which I blamed on stress from my step mother (who was crazy). The internest I saw called it splenic flexure syndrome (which meant, it was a spasm of the splenic curve of the colon, caused by stress). Stress is the biggy. (my father had diverticulitis). Love, mom
