Today: made five and a half quarts of chicken stock. Visited the library with the kids. Drank lots of tea. Tried to eat creatively.
As of yesterday, on the advice of a naturopathic doctor, I’m on a 30 day “whole foods” diet, which means nothing made with flour, no dairy, no refined sugar. Additionally, to address my GI inflammation, no coffee, legumes, citrus, or chocolate.
It’s challenging. But it’s a good kind of challenge. Firstly, my gut feels better already. Also as I said to Brian tonight, it’s great to have no regrets or guilt about what I’ve eaten that day. It’s only a few weeks. If I stick to it, I will most likely shed my remaining baby weight, plus a little more.
Tonight I made some popcorn to share with Freya, cooked in olive oil and seasoned with coarse salt and nutritional yeast. I sure miss butter.
